How to Emit Less Greenhouse Gases
As the global population has increased and our reliance on fossil fuels has grown, atmospheric concentrations of both natural and man-made gases has risen. Many greenhouse gases occur naturally in the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide, with man-made gases including the chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and Perfluorocarbons (PFCs).
Many measures need to be taken to emit less greenhouse gases in everyday life. Going green in your home is a cost-effective way to use less energy and cut down on waste, improving the state of our environment. Noritz tankless hot water heaters are 83-94 percent efficient, and will emit 700 lbs less CO2 than a traditional tank water heater. This action alone will greatly reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the Earth's atmosphere. 25 percent of the carbon dioxide pollution produced by the U.S. comes from fossil fuel burning alone. By switching to more energy-efficient appliances, the demand for electricity will decrease and the amount of greenhouse gases emitted each year will lessen.
